Excerpt from Rusutsu, Japan

“..: One afternoon, we had something of a fiendish altercation on Steamboat B (Red 26). In a bygone era, readers will know that Ninjas acted as covert agents or mercenaries, skilled in various forms of guerrilla warfare, sabotage and assassination. They used their skills to carry out missions that required stealth and precision, often dressed in dark clothing to blend in, and using unconventional tactics.


One such female descendant decided to use the unconventional form of a snowboard to wipe Dawn out. I watched the whole thing unfold: using a strategy honed by Japanese WWII Zero fighter pilots, she came out of the sun, making it difficult for Dawn to spot her coming, but when the Ninja pounced, it was swift and merciless, before she boarded off, laughing into the cold dry air.


Actually that last bit was an exaggeration, she did make something of a swift apology, but she had already committed her deadly mission by that time. Dawn was left nursing a mild degree of whiplash, and a very large dose of indignation. Her Paddington stare was completely wasted on the vanishing assailant ...”
